Singer Lira is recovering well after she suffered a stroke.

Singer, songwriter and entertainer Lerato Molapo (44) popularly known as Lira is recovering after she has suffered a stroke.
In a statement by her management team, they confirmed that Lira suffered from a stroke while on tour in Germany.
"To Lira's beloved fans, clients, and associates: As Lira's family, we would like to take this opportunity to share some recent developments regarding Lira's health. She recently traveled to Germany for performance but unfortunately suffered a stroke whilst there. As a result, her ability to speak, in particular, her speech, has been impacted," the statement reads.
According to her team, she is currently undergoing treatment here in South Africa, led by the "best medical team available".
The statement added that "Her medical team has advised that her journey to recovery will require patience and therefore, it is unlikely that she will be able to perform in the short term. That said, Lira is in good spirits and is surrounded by her loving family and close friends as she journeys towards a full recovery."
Lira thanked everyone for their support.
"We thank you all in advance for your prayers, support, kindness, and utmost sensitivity and consideration during this very challenging time in her life. Let there be light!"
She was booked to serenade kings and queens of Joburg at the Miss Bachelorette South Africa Beauty Pageant at Gold Reef City in Joburg on Saturday , April 23 and was replaced by fellow R&B singer Ringo Madlingozi.
Lira's music career spans 18 years and includes 6 studio albums, 4 live DVD’s, an autobiography and a feature movie; has established herself as the foremost female artist in South Africa and a formidable presence on the global music scene.
