Award-winning Canadian singer and actress Deborah Cox is heading to South Africa to perform at the Sun City Superbowl in North West on May 27.
Born and raised in Toronto, Cox began performing in television commercials at the age of 12, and entered various talent shows in her teenage years before becoming a professional backing vocalist for pop and soft rock diva Celine Dion.
Cox, who is ageing gracefully, relocated to the US in 1994 and was signed by Arista Records by Clive Davis. She released her self-titled album in 1995 and the second one, One Wish, came in 1998. Her single Nobody's Supposed To Be Here did well and made it to the Billboard Top 100 chart.
Announcing the news on social media, Cox said that she was so excited that she was coming to South Africa again.

The event is set to showcase soul and gospel music by seasoned, internationally acclaimed artists, through live band components.
Other artists set to take the stage include Lebo Sekgobela , Bucy Radebe, Hle Live, Dumi Mkokstad, Mahalia Buchanan, Mohlaphuli Brothers, Rev Ben Dube, Dr Tumi, Teboho Moloi.
Vertex Events said: "We are excited to announce that the Multi-award winning, R&B & Soul superstar Deborah Cox graces the Magic Music Sessions stage."
Tickets will be available for purchase on Webtickets (www.webtickets.co.za) and at Pick n Pay stores nationwide from R450, up to R1,250.
