To celebrate National Marine month in October, Pick n Pay will host a People n Planet Clean Up in partnership with WESSA Schools Programme on Saturday 26 October 2019 in Johannesburg.
Together they will clean the Klipspruit River in Orlando East, Soweto.
National Marine month aims to create awareness about coastal and marine environments in an effort to promote sustainable use and conservation of resources. The People n Planet Clean Up will not only help remove waste from the river, but it also hopes to inspire a recycling behaviour to avoid unnecessary plastic pollution from entering the environment in the first, which often then lands up in our rivers and oceans.
