Veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune is confident Kaizer Chiefs will pull off a victory at what he terms their "happy hunting ground" when they face DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on Sunday.

Kick off is at 17:00 CAT.

Chiefs have won three and drawn the other of their last four visits to face The Brazilians, including a come-from-behind 2-1 victory last season that was the only time Sundowns were beaten in their 30 leagues in the 2020-21 campaign.

"Loftus is our happy hunting ground, "Khune told club’s website. "We play well there, we play a good brand of football and we get positive results too.

"So it won’t be any different this coming weekend. It will be a great match between the two sides. We know what happens when we meet – it’s two bulls and as always, we want to come out victorious.

"The coach [Stuart Baxter] has a plan, as players we just have to go out there and execute it and get a positive result out of the game."

Both sides have managed four points from their opening two league games this season.

Sunday’s match comes just less than a month after Sundowns knocked Chiefs out of the MTN8 at the quarter-finals stage via a penalty shootout.

That sets the Soweto giants on a mission to reclaim bragging rights which they ended with last season over Sundowns.
