Durban Heat were frustrated by rain for the fifth time in their campaign as their Mzansi Super League match against Jozi Stars was abandoned without a ball being bowled at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead in Durban.

This means that Tshwane Spartans – who also had five washouts in their 10 matches – pipped the Durban team by one point to take third place, and a slot in the semifinal in Port Elizabeth on Friday against hosts Nelson Mandela Bay Giants.

The winner of that match will play log-winners Paarl Rocks in the final at Eurolux Boland Park on Monday evening.

Both the Spartans and the Heat had rain-affected campaigns, with both teams having five no-results. The difference between the two teams was that, unlike the Heat, the Spartans had one bonus-point win to their credit.
