The Proteas interest in touring Pakistan for three T20Is later this year has been cancelled.

All three matches that were due to be played in Rawalpindi,will no longer go ahead, following concerns over player workload.This is after a bumper home summer that has seen South Africa host England in four Test matches and three ODIs, with a three-match T20I series still in progress.

Pakistan Cricket Board and Cricket South Africa will reschedule the tour after establishing a suitable period for the three T20Is.

South Africa will conclude a four-Test, three-ODI and three-T20I series against England later this week. They will then host Australia for three T20Is.

Pakistan and South Africa will compete in the T20 World Cup in Australia later this year.

Meanwhile Pakistan are currently hosting neighbours Bangladesh for two Tests and a one-off ODI, while South Africa play the second of three T20Is against England in Durban on Friday.

The Proteas lead the series 1-0.
