South African referee Victor Gomes was supposed to be in charge of the Africa Cup of Nations final between Algeria and Senegal.

Gomes has served on the FIFA Panel for six years and has been on the National Panel for eight years.
His most memorable game was when he officiated the clash between Celtics vs. Pirates Telkom Knock Out Quarter Final in the 2012/2013 season.
Gomes was voted for PSL Referee of the Year in the 2012/2013.
