Crucial talks held to resolve the blackout of PSL matches on SABC.
Minister of Sports,Arts and Culture Nathi Mthethwa and Minister of Communications Stella Ndabeni -Abrahams met with the Premier Soccer League (PSL) chairperson Dr Irvin Khoza and Multichoice Executive chairperson Imtiaz Patel to pave a way for a sustainable and long-term solution to the dispute that has resulted in PSL matches not being broadcast on the public broadcaster.
The SABC has not broadcasted any PSL matches, with some teams having already played three matches in the league, including the first round of the MTN 8 cup.
“The meeting follows an intervention made by Minister Mthethwa and Minister Ndabeni-Abrahams two weeks ago, when both ministers met with the SABC.”
Mthethwa has confirmed that in 48 hours all affected parties will once again meet and what will culminate from that discussion will be an announcement that will constitute a breakthrough in the current impasse, said the statement.
