Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies were crowned the 2023 CAF Women's Champions League winners after a 3-0 win over Sporting Casablanca in the final at Stade Amadou Gon Coulibaly.

A brace from Refilwe Tholakele of goals in each half and a Boitumelo Rabale strike ensured that the Hollywoodbets Super League champions, are winners again in three years following the same feat in the inaugural event in 2021.

This season, the five-time South African league champions won all of their Group A matches to top their pool and set a semi-final date with Far Rabat who they beat by a solitary goal to reach the final.

Sundowns Ladies team have followed in the footsteps of their male counterparts and beat a Moroccan side in a final of a major African competition.

The win for Sundowns see them becoming the first women's team on the continent to win the Champions League twice.
