- Four broadcasters to show Bundesliga matches in Mexico and Central America during the 2020-21 season

- Individual deals deliver on goal of bringing the Bundesliga closer to fans throughout the region
Bundesliga International, a subsidiary of DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, has agreed deals with four broadcasters in Mexico, making the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 widely available to fans throughout the country and highlighting the importance of the market to its broadcast strategy. The four deals, with SKY Mexico, Claro Sports, FOX Sports Mexico and TV Azteca, combine to deliver a wide variety of options for football fans to enjoy every Matchday of the new Bundesliga season.
As announced last week, SKY Mexico has become the main broadcaster of the Bundesliga for the next two years, with the rights to exclusively broadcast three matches each week within Mexico and Central America on its newly launched Bundesliga-dedicated channel. SKY Mexico also has non-exclusive access to the other six games taking place each Matchday, as well as Bundesliga 2 matches throughout the year, the German Supercup on an exclusive basis and the season-defining promotion/relegation matches. The deal also means that SKY Mexico will show every FC Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund match throughout the season - including exclusive coverage of the hugely anticipated "Der Klassiker" match-up on Saturday, 7th November in Mexico.
Regional pay-TV broadcaster Claro Sports will also broadcast one match per Matchday across 17 Latin American countries. Fans will be able to watch the Bundesliga's Sunday match at 11am Mexico time live and on demand, not only through the linear channels but also via Marca Claro's digital platforms.
Bundesliga International retains its long-term partnership with FOX Sports Mexico, by granting the broadcaster the right to show 50 matches in Mexico this season. The deal means that FOX will always show one match each Saturday and further increases the reach of the Bundesliga by ensuring visibility on all platforms throughout the year.
Bundesliga International CEO Robert Klein said: "Mexico is a clear example of our strategy to bring the best of German football to more fans by making the league as accessible as possible. Whether it is pay-TV, FTA, via linear channels or digital, these agreements with established media partners will bring the best engagement, live content, and innovative story telling to our Mexican fanbase day in, day out."
With the Bundesliga more widely available than ever before, each broadcaster will also deliver additional weekly content, including highlights, interviews and the latest news stories to supplement the live action. By agreeing both pay-TV and Free-to-Air (FTA) deals across the region, as well as utilising Over-The-Top (OTT) and digital channels, Bundesliga International is underlining its commitment to make German football more easily accessible for fans.
