Kaizer Chiefs dropped points in the DStv Premiership after playing to an entertaining 2-2 draw with Golden Arrows this afternoon.
Coach Gavin Hunt made seven changes to the starting line-up when compared to the team that played against Orlando Pirates in the MTN 8. Only Daniel Cardoso, Lebogang Manyama and Leonardo Castro retained their starting positions.
Chiefs drew last DSTV Premiership match against TS Galaxy before losing to Pirates a few days later.
After a goal-less opening stanza in Durban, the home side drew first blood through a Siboniso Conco penalty before the visitors scored twice through Leonardo Castro to take the lead, only for Nduduzo Sibiya to deny the Soweto giants their second league win of the season.
It was Arrows who made brilliant start to the game and they could have gone ahead after just two minutes when Conco surged clear down the right wing before locating Michael Gumede with an accurate cross, but from just 12-yards out he lifted his shot into the stands, not testing goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune.
Mzansi's finest, Khune came back in the Amakhosi line up.
The final 20 minutes belonged almost exclusively to Amakhosi, but there were no more than a couple of half-chances as the Arrows defence remained firm and focused to earn the point.
Chiefs gave MultiChoice Diski Challenge graduate Darrel Matsheke a debut in the last eight minutes, as both sides went at each other for the winner but in the end settled for a draw.
Chiefs will return to DStv Premiership action on Tuesday with a clash away to Soweto rivals Swallows FC, while Arrows will be away to TS Galaxy next Saturday.
