FULL Time: USA 19 Tonga 31.

Tonga bounced back in the second half to beat USA to claim their first win at Rugby World Cup and fourth spot in Pool C

The Pacific Islanders were tailing 12-7 at the break, despite scoring the first try of the game through prop Seigfried Fisi’ihoi, a lead they full deserved for their early pressure but replacement Mike Te’o scored two tries in quick succession to turn the game on its head, but USA could not maintain their form after the interval.

Instead, Tonga added further tries through Malietoa Hingano and captain Siale Piutau,as they scored 17 unanswered points before USA flanker Tony Lamborn pulled one back with just two minutes remaining.

Just when the Eagles thought they may have a shot at victory, Tonga extinguished their hopes with a final try a minute into added time as full-back Telusa Veainu became the first Tonga player to score three tries in a single World Cup as he touched down from a clever kick behind the USA defence.
