Bafana Bafana coach Molefi Ntseki began his journey on a positive note after a victory over Mali in the Nelson Mandela Challenge.

They were awarded a penalty in the 24th minute after Thulani Serero was brought down inside the box. Dean Furman stepped up to break the deadlock with a well taken low spot-kick.
 
Themba Zwane came in as a substitute after Keegan Dolly got injured and made an impact after doubling the lead for Bafana Bafana in stoppage time.
 
However,Sekou Koita pulled a goal back with a sweeping strike from the centre of the box to set up a good finish.
 
Bafana Bafana managed to held on and clinch a 2-1 victory to be crowned 2019 Nelson Mandela Challenge winners.
