Twitter was ablaze after residents took to the social media platform to report that they felt a tremor in and around KZN.
It lasted for less than 40 seconds.
The South African Weather Service has informed the public via Twitter that they should make contact with the Council of Geoscience to alert them about what they experienced.
We are receiving a lot of reports of a tremor that was felt in KwaZulu-Natal. Please contact @CGS_RSA to inform them about it as they deal with this type of phenomenon.— SA Weather Service (@SAWeatherServic) October 31, 2019
Residents living as far as uMkomaas on the KwaZulu-Natal south coast, Pietermaritzburg, Hillcrest and Durban North have all experienced the tremor.
It is suspected that the tremor could have been an aftershock from a recent earthquake that hit the island of Mindanao earlier this week.
