Cash strapped power utility is currently load shedding in stage 4.
Eskom's systems are currently down and customers are unable to access schedules and it has stated the unexpected loss of additional generation units on Tuesday led to the need for additional power cuts.
The power utility said Koeberg Unit 1 had to be disconnected from the grid due to damage sustained to one of the seawater circulating pumps.
The damage will reportedly take a few days to repair.
Eskom added that the system is vulnerable and unpredictable requiring cuts at short notice.
Electricity users are urged to check their load-shedding schedules or local municipal websites for more information on when they will experience load-shedding.
