MultiChoice has informed its DStv Select subscribers that it will discontinue this service on 29 October and move them to DStv Family.
The broadcaster has stopped actively selling DStv Select in April 2013 and replaced it with a DStv Family but legacy DStv Select subscribers were allowed to remain on the package as long as they did not become inactive for more than three months.
Multichoice is eliminating its two legacy packages – DStv Select 1 that contains Mzansi Magic as a TV channel as part of its collection, as well as DStv Select 2 that provides kykNET as a part of its collection.
“DStv is continuously reviewing its content line-up, packaging structure and pricing to ensure that customers have access to the best fresh content at great value,” MultiChoice said.
“As a result, we will be discontinuing some packages and re-directing customers to the main packages where the same programmes and channels can be found.”
DStv Select costs R265 per month, while DStv Compact Plus costs R519 per month and DStv Premium R809 per month.
