Derek Hanekom admission that He met with the EFF Secretary General Godrich Gardee to oust then president Jacob Zuma is expected to be debated at the ANC National Executive Committee meeting that is starting today.

The ANC Spokesperson Dakota Legoete said that Hanekom will have to answer to the party structures for meeting with the EFF, He further said that no party leader must ever conspire with the opposition for the destruction of the party.

Hanekom's future has now become the new factional fight and his detractors are baying for his blood, calling for his expulsion from the ANC. The secretary general Ace Magashule has already labelled him as a wedge driver, a charlatan and an EFF sleeper.

However it appears that Hanekom will have some support within the NEC,though it is not clear of the numbers supporting him.
