Katlehong residents set alight the The Incredible Happenings church of controversial religious leader Paseka “Pastor Mboro” Motsoeneng on Tuesday.
Community members were seen trashing the insides of the tent used by Mboro for church service, while others set its panels alight.
Segments quickly caught fire and smoke began billowing from the tent’s entrances. Minutes later, the structure was reduced to ashes as firefighters tackled a fire that had set the field alight.
The church was only a short distance away from a police station and officers were on the scene observing the commotion.

Mboro and three others were arrested on Monday evening for the violence shown when his two grandchildren were forcibly removed from a school in Katlehong.
He is involved in a dispute over maintenance and custody of the children after the death of their mother.
In a video that went viral Mboro, accompanied by other men and a bodyguard armed with what is believed to be a replica rifle, is seen intimidating and harassing teachers.
Mboro was also seen charging with a panga at staff members who had tried to stop him and those who were filming him.
Gauteng Police spokesperson Col Noxolo Kweza confirmed four people were arrested for alleged acts of intimidation and violence at the primary school.
Khweza says the accused will appear before the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
“They are facing a variety of charges, including assault, handling a firearm recklessly that could endanger lives and property, rendering security services while not registered, malicious damage to property and intimidation.
“The replica firearm and the pangas have since been confiscated. One of the suspects was arrested for assaulting the station commander at Katlehong North police station when a group of people were demanding to deal with the local pastor outside the police station.”
The four will face charges of intimidation and violence when they line up in court.
