Fullview has learned that a sixth man died after being beaten and stoned in a mob attack in Marogoro Street in Rabie Ridge.
It’s understood the group of men were stoned to death by community members in the early hours of Monday morning.
They were targeted for committing crimes, including muggings, housebreakings, and rape.
SA Police Service spokesperson Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi said officers attended to the scene at Marogoro Street in Rabie Ridge, Midrand, on Monday morning.
“The suspicion is that they were stoned to death by community members. No one has been arrested. A case of murder with five counts is opened for further investigations.
“Five men were found dead. The public is urged not to take the law into their own hands as this also constitute to a crime but rather work together with the police by reporting any criminal activities on the Crime Stop Line at 08600 10111 or anonymously give tip-offs on MySapsApp which can downloaded on any smartphone,” Nevhuhulwi said.
Five men died on the scene while it’s understood the sixth victim succumbed to wounds in hospital.
Residents in Rabie Ridge like many communities in the country feel let down and neglected by those in power.
