Load shedding to remain suspended until Sunday afternoon.

Staff Reporter.

State owned power utility Eskom says load shedding will continue to be suspended during the day, only moving to Stage 2 in the evenings this week.

This alternating pattern will continue until further notice, it said.

“This is as a result of the recovery of emergency reserves, the return of three generating units and the anticipated weekday demand,” said the utility.

“The suspension of daytime loadshedding from 05:00 until 16:00 and the implementation of Stage 2 loadshedding from 16:00 until 05:00 thereafter will remain until further notice,” said the utility.

This may change, as a total of 3 330MW of generation capacity is expected to return to service by Wednesday.

For access to other load shedding schedules, Eskom has made them available on loadshedding.eskom.co.za.

Smartphone users can also download the app EskomSePush to receive push notifications when load shedding is implemented, as well as the times the area you are in will be off.
