Big Concert have announced that the R&B superstar Chris Brown has added a second date to his concert “Breezy in South Africa”.
The performances will be on December 14 and 15 at FNB Stadium in Nasrec, Johannesburg.
Big Concerts, took to Instagram on Thursday evening to announce the second date for the show.
“You asked, and Breezy delivered! If you missed out on the first round, here’s your chance to catch the King of R&B LIVE for another unforgettable night!”
Tickets for the Sunday show will go on sale on Friday at 10am, the organisers announced.
Ticket prices range from R515 for general admission to R5,745 for VIP Hall of Fame Lounge tickets. The front-zone standing tickets will cost you R1,255.
Meanwhile Women For Change has called on concert organisers Big Concerts, promoters, and the SA government to reconsider the decision to allow Brown to perform in Johannesburg.
“Women For Change is a non-profit organisation that advocates for the constitutional rights of women and children in South Africa,” states a description of the organisation.
“His concert is scheduled just days after the global commemoration of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, making this event a direct insult to the millions of women and girls affected by violence in South Africa and worldwide,” the organisation says in the petition on Change.org.
“South Africa is in the midst of a GBV crisis, where femicide rates are five times higher than the global average. Many women and children live in constant fear, and the scars of violence run deep,” the organisation continues.
“Instead of glorifying individuals with a history of abuse, we must be empowering and supporting survivors.”
Brown is a controversial figure who notoriously assaulted his former girlfriend and singer Rihanna in 2009, leaving her with severe facial injuries. Brown was charged with felony assault and pleaded guilty.
In 2010, Brown was forced to postpone his UK tour after being denied a visa to enter the country due to his assault case.
