The match between Joburg Super Kings and Pretoria Capitals at The Wanderers on Saturday was a special and unforgettable one for more than 200 kids from various areas in Gauteng.
The Joburg Super Kings provided them a special live-match day experience where they saw their favourite stars in action from the Sun Zone in the Taverners pavilion, sporting the Super Kings’ yellow merchandise and bucket hats, waving flags and blowing whistles!
The Joburg Super Kings will be providing similar match-day experiences for kids in all the home matches of SA20 2024.
The kids came from schools that participate in the Gauteng Schools leagues to grow the base of cricket within the townships which lack infrastructure. They are a feeder to the regional and provincial cricket teams’ pipeline.
The kids in attendance were from various hubs within Gauteng region as follows:
•Soweto hub
•Dobsonville hub
•West rand hub
•Sedibeng hub
•South hub (Orange Farm)
•Alexandra hub
•Central hub
