Clinton Larsen’s National First Division side have secured promotion to the top-flight after defeating Milford FC 3-1 at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The results saw Magesi secure the MFC title after moving eight points clear of second-placed University of Pretoria with two games to spare.

Magesi now sit on 55 points, followed by Tuks with 47, while Baroka and JDR Stars closed in on second place and now sit on 45 points, beating Marumo Gallants and Orbit College, respectively.

In another intriguing showdown, second-placed Tuks couldn’t secure maximum points, settling for a 2-2 draw with Black Leopards at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Larsen lauded the club management for supporting his vision of promoting them to the Premiership.

“It has been a lot of hard work. It has been 15 months since I came here at the club from last season and since day one, we had a lot of work to do,” Larsen told the media after the match.

“We had to change the structure to make sure the club works as professional. I want to thank the management for that trust and support and there was not a single day of interference from the club.”

Their upcoming match is set against Casric Stars on Sunday, May 12th, followed by their last game in the National First Division against Venda on Sunday, May 19th.
