Orlando Pirates Football Club have announced the departure of midfielder Fortune Makaringe after spending five years since his arrival from Maritzburg United.
“Words cannot fully express our gratitude and appreciation for Makaringe. Throughout his time with us, he consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and discipline,” the club statement read on Tuesday afternoon.
“The Club will always be grateful for his contribution and wishes him nothing but the best in his future endeavour.”
Makaringe won three MTN8 and two Nedbank Cup trophies, while featuring 147 times for the club, scoring 10 goals with nine assists.
He follows Cameroon international striker Souaibou Marou out of the club as Pirates looks to build on from the 2023/24 campaign.

The likes of Kermit Erasmus, Katlego Otladisa, Zakhele Lepasa, Richard Ofori, Siyabonga Mpontshane, Thabang Monare and Bandile Shandu are all expected to leave the club.
