Liverpool booked their spot Carabao Cup final spot in emphatic fashion following an dominant 4-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur at Anfield.

Spurs had headed to Anfield with a narrow 1-0 lead after Lucas Bergval’s controversial winning goal in north London last month.

The defeat was just one of three Liverpool have endured across all competitions under Arne Slot this season.

However, the Reds secured their revenge in style from minute one, with the visitors failing to even have a single shot on target.

Goals from Cody Gakpo, Mohamed Salah, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Virgil van Dijk set up a Wembley final against Newcastle.

“I think the stadium helped a lot. We knew we had to come back,” Gakpo told Sky Sports.

“We went out there and tried to bring as much chances as possible. With the quality we have, we know we are going to get chances. It was a great win.”

The final will be Liverpool’s 15th in the League Cup but a first in English football for Liverpool’s Dutch head coach Arne Slot, who replaced Jürgen Klopp at the end of last season.

It also kept record 10-time League Cup winners Liverpool on course for a four-trophy haul this season.
