The African National Congress (ANC) in Limpopo has placed Boy Mamabolo on a temporary suspension after insulting fellow party members on social media.
Mamabolo launched an attack on former MEC for Sports in Limpopo Onica Moloi and former ANC Youth League [ANCYL] chairperson Matthews Malebana.
He celebrated Malebana’s death saying the former youth leader must “rot in hell”. He also accused Moloi of moral bankruptcy and sleeping around.
Malebana had passed away on 30 March 2025; immediately following the announcement, Mamabolo posted deeply offensive remarks on platforms including X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook, writing, “He must rot in Hell….a le hwe lekgwehle lee mar… a lona.”
He intensified his onslaught, publicly alleging that Moloi embezzled R200 000 intended for wedding decorations and inappropriately appropriated funds during her personal hospitalisation.
Mamabolo has been summoned to appear before the party’s provincial disciplinary committee, but will remain suspended until the finalisation of his case.
ANC spokesperson in Limpopo Jimmy Machaka says, “the Provincial Working Committee resolved to place Comrade Boy Mamabolo on temporary suspension, pending the outcome of provincial disciplinary proceedings. This decision was taken in line with Rule 25.56 of the ANC Constitution.”
“The PWC views his conduct as bringing the organisation into disrepute. Consequently, we have no choice but to invoke disciplinary measures to safeguard the integrity of the organisation, said Machaka.
“The ANC in Limpopo calls upon its members calls upon all its members and structures to desist from using social media platforms to put the organisation into disrepute.”
Mamabolo has had a strained relationship with the ANC since he was removed from its candidate list for parliament before last year’s general elections.
Mamabolo is adamant that he is still a member of the ANC in good standing despite his temporary suspension by the organisation.
