Netball South Africa (NSA) says it acknowledges the correspondence received from World Netball on the suspension of its President, Cecilia Molokwane.
Molokwane has been suspended by World Netball (WN) — and the national federation itself will face suspension if it allows her to continue in her role.
Molokwane is the president of NSA as well as Africa Netball and also sits on the board of the international body.
World Netball earlier this month had asked Molokwane to step aside until the probe was completed, but the governing body suspended her after she refused.
Details are still sketchy on what prompted her suspension.
In a brief statement, NSA said, “We are currently in discussions with World Netball regarding this matter. As an organization, NSA is dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of governance, integrity, and transparency. We are committed to ensuring a fair and thorough process throughout this situation.”
“In line with World Netball’s guidelines, we will refrain from engaging in discussions about ongoing internal matters. Therefore, we kindly ask for your patience as we allow the ongoing processes before providing any further updates, read the statement.”
