Tickets for the Springboks’ first clash against the Barbarians on South African soil in June are on sale.
The back-to-back world champions will open their season against the famed, Britain-based invitational team at Cape Town Stadium on 28 June, the ninth meeting between the teams and the first since November 2016, when the match at Wembley Stadium ended in a 31-31 draw.
“This is a moment of real significance for South African rugby,” said SA Rugby CEO Rian Oberholzer. “To welcome the Barbarians here for the first time is a proud occasion, and we’re grateful to all involved for making it possible.”
Tickets are available exclusively from Ticketmaster.
With an action-packed year ahead — including the Rugby Championship and a high-profile year-end tour — the Barbarians clash is more than just a curtain-raiser. It’s a celebration of rugby tradition, innovation, and global connection — all under the winter skies of Cape Town.
Fans are urged to secure their seats early for what promises to be one of the standout fixtures of the 2025 rugby calendar.
The Boks host Italy in a two-Test series in Pretoria and Gqeberha in July, before meeting Georgia in Mbombela, with tickets for the three matches available from Friday, 16 May.
Tickets for the Boks’ home matches in their defence of the Rugby Championship title will go on sale on Friday, 13 June.
