Miss South Africa 2024, Mia le Roux, will not represent the nation at this year’s Miss Supranational pageant in Poland, the Miss South Africa Organisation has confirmed.
This marks the second time Le Roux has stepped back from an international competition, following her withdrawal from the Miss Universe 2023 pageant due to health concerns.
In a statement released by the organisation, they expressed their gratitude to fans, saying:
“With heartfelt gratitude to our incredible fans, we share that Miss South Africa will not participate in the Miss Supranational 2025 competition, set for June in Poland.”
They added: “We deeply value the memories and connections of this event. We wish the Supranational Organisation a spectacular event.”
Set for Friday, 27 June, the Miss Supranational 2025 finale will take place in Poland, where reigning queen Harashta Haifa Zahra of Indonesia will crown her successor. The pageant has been hosted in the country for the past four years.
Le Roux’s decision follows a recent trend in the Miss South Africa programme, where reigning titleholders opt not to participate in international competitions.
