Durban City are confirmed the MFC champions and will be promoted to the Betway Premiership next season, while Cape Town Spurs will be relegated from the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
This follows the complaint lodged by Spurs over the eligibility of Saziso Magawana, who signed for Durban City from Marumo Gallants.
The final verdict was delivered today (Monday), with arbitrator Hilton Epstein dismissing the case with the costs being awarded against the appellants.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has also dismissed a case that had been lodged against them by JDR Stars over the same player.
During the season, Durban City defeated both Cape Town Spurs and JDR Stars, and the wins were crucial in their promotion quest.
Against JDR Stars, Durban City collected six points as they were 5-2 winners on November 11 before a 3-0 victory later on May 4.
Durban City also defeated Cape Town Spurs 1-0 in both league games, first on September 27 and then on May 18.
The resolution clears the way for the promotional play-offs to proceed.
However the PSL is yet to confirm the dates of the play-offs, which will involve Cape Town City as the team that finished second from bottom in the Betway Premiership, as well as Orbit College FC and Casric Stars.
