Simone Inzaghi has left his position as manager of Inter Milan in a mutual agreement, the Serie A club confirmed on Tuesday.
The club and Simone Inzaghi are parting ways. This is the decision taken by mutual agreement,” Inter said in a statement.
Both Inter and Inzaghi said the decision had been made at a meeting involving the coach and club President Giuseppe Marotta on Tuesday afternoon.
The parting came just days after Saturday’s 5-0 thumping by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final.
According to reports from Italian media, Inzaghi has accepted a lucrative offer of nearly €30 million per year to manage Al-Hilal — the Saudi giants who will face Real Madrid in their opening match of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.
The tournament kicks off June 15 in the United States, meaning Inzaghi will have minimal time to prepare his new squad for one of the toughest challenges imaginable.
