SA Police Services in Westonaria, in the West Rand Municipality, have arrested a 43-year-old man for the murder of his colleague on Friday.
According to police, the suspect attacked and fatally stabbed the victim at their place of residence at the Leseding hostel.
“Police have opened a case of murder for further investigations and the arrested suspect is expected to appear before Westonaria Magistrates’ court on Monday,” says Police spokesperson Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi.
Fullview understands that the incident took place in the premises suspected of being Sibanye-Stillwater.
However the spokesperson for Sibanye-Stillwater, James Wellstead, confirmed that the incident took place in an informal trading area and not on the premises of Sibanye-Stillwater.
Wellstead added that they are still investigating.
In the video footage which was sent to us, the perpetrator can be seen lifting his arm and stabbing his victim.
In the video and images, the knife-wielding man is then seen posing with the body from all angles and even takes a selfie or two.
Wellstead further claimed that the deceased was indeed an employee and that the perpetrator was a former employee but was dismissed for unknown reasons.
