The South African Weather Service (SAWS) has extended its heatwave warning for most parts of the country until next Tuesday.
Heatwave conditions with persistently high temperatures are expected over the eastern parts of Eastern Cape and western parts of KwaZulu-Natal until Friday and in places over Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Free State, North-West Province and north-eastern parts of Northern Cape until Tuesday, 28 November.
It further warned of severe thunderstorms in most parts of the country.
Outlook for Friday( 24/11/23) and Saturday (25/11/23):

“Isolated showers are predicted to pass across the eastern half of North West and Free State, as well as the southern regions of KwaZulu-Natal, Mpumalanga and Limpopo on Monday,” a weather service forecaster said.
The country’s south coast, the eastern half of the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, the highveld of Mpumalanga, Gauteng, the eastern sections of North West and Free State, and the southwestern portions of Limpopo are all predicted to get rain and showers on Tuesday due to a cold front.
KwaZulu-Natal is anticipating isolated showers across the province on Wednesday, while the Western and Eastern Capes are predicted to get isolated showers.

Residents in affected areas to take precautions against the heatwave, such as staying indoors during the hottest part of the day, drinking plenty of fluids and wearing loose-fitting clothing.
