Orlando Pirates have confirmed the acquisition of Sipho Mbule for the upcoming 2025/26 season under newly appointed head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
Pirates announced Mbule’s signing on their social media accounts on Wednesday, simply posting on X: “Orlando Pirates is pleased to welcome Sipho Mbule to the club.”

Mbule spent two seasons at Mamelodi Sundowns where he struggled to break into the team and was subsequently loaned to Sekhukhune United.
His fast-lane lifestyle and drinking habits were well-documented. Due to his lack of discipline, Mbule was nearly expelled from Sekhukhune United.

Pirates meanwhile have confirmed the four European teams they will face on their pre-season tour of Spain. The tour officially begins on 11 July when Pirates take on English League One side Bolton Wanderers. The Buccaneers also became the first Premier Soccer League to officially unveil their kit for the 2025/26 season.
