Eskom suspends daytime load shedding for now.

Staff Reporter.

Load shedding was suspended at noon on Tuesday, and will pick up again with Stage 2 at  16:00, state owned power utility Eskom has announced.

After the brief suspension, stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 16h00 to midnight, after which outages will again be suspended until 16h00 on Wednesday.

The easing of load shedding follows an earlier downgrade to a stage 2 and stage 3 rotation on Tuesday morning.

Eskom said it would continue monitoring the power system closely and would communicate should any significant changes occur, with the next update expected on Wednesday.

For access to other load shedding schedules, Eskom has made them available on loadshedding.eskom.co.za.

Smartphone users can also download the app EskomSePush to receive push notifications when load shedding is implemented, as well as the times the area you are in will be off.
