Novak Djokovic continued his bid for a record-equalling eighth Wimbledon trophy and standalone 25th Grand Slam title when he beat Italian Flavio Cobolli 6-7(6) 6-2 7-5 6-4 on Wednesday.
Djokovic, 38, fightback helped him reach a record 14th singles semi-final at the All England Club, where he will face top seed Jannik Sinner, with defending champion Carlos Alcaraz or Taylor Fritz awaiting in the final.
It’s the seventh straight Wimbledon where Djokovic has made the semifinals, matching Roger Federer (2003-09) for the longest streak by any man since 1968.
Djokovic is trying to tie Federer’s record of eight titles at the All England Club.
Standing between Djokovic and a third straight appearance in the championship match — he’s lost to Alcaraz the past two years — will be Sinner, whom Djokovic beat in the 2023 semifinals at the All England Club but who has won their past four meetings.
