TS Galaxy Football Club have parted ways with midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi through mutual agreement.

Vilakazi, 33, joined Galaxy in the off-season as a marquee signing after six seasons at Mamelodi Sundowns where he won nine trophies, including five league titles.

“Our club has parted ways with Vila,” Galaxy’s chairman Tim Sukazi said. “It was not an easy decision because we hold Vila in high regard.”

“Vila is an absolute professional who has contributed a lot to our Club within the shortest time of his stay. Our Club doors will remain open to him in the future.”

Vilakazi has scored 64 goals and registered 36 assists in 342 matches in club football since making his debut for the now-defunct Bidvest Wits back in 2009.

The Rockets will begin life without Vilakazi on Sunday when they host Kaizer Chiefs, who recently returned to winning ways in the league, in Mbombela on Sunday.
