Amazulu Football Club confirmed George Maluleka had undergone testing at a nearby hospital and has been discharged.
Maluleka, 34, broke down motionless in injury-time of his side’s 1-0 defeat to Swallows at Moses Mabhida Stadium, with a defibrillator rushed onto the pitch.
Thanks to the quick response from medical teams from both clubs after he was stabilised, was breathing and moving when an ambulance took him off the field.
On January 1, Maluleka went down during the match between AmaZulu and Sekhukhune United. He was eventually treated and returned to the pitch to finish the game.
THe club released a statement this morning, saying more tests were conducted.
“Thanks for your kind messages towards George Maluleke who required immediate medical attention right before the match against Swallows was about to end at Moses Mabhida,” the club stated.
“Mido was discharged after a number of tests were conducted by our medics.”
In February, Richards Bay’s Siphamandla Mtolo collapsed at the training ground and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
At the end, Swallows collected the three points, second win away this season, thanks to a first-half goal by Kagiso Malinga to climb to 27 points on the log.
Swallows are in the battle for survival, just one behind Usuthu, who have now lost four of their six games since handing Romain Folz a new three-year deal.
