Kaizer Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki had to be escorted out of the Mbombela Stadium with supporters expressing their dissatisfaction after a 1-0 defeat to TS Galaxy.
Chiefs extended their winless run to six competitive matches and they remained 13th on the standings and they will be hoping to record their first league win of the season when they face Amazulu on August 26.
“Very disappointed with the loss, but I can attribute it to a few things, we didn’t look as sharp as we were supposed to be, we were almost second in everything,” Ntseki said after the game before the incident transpired.
“Whether in attack not having numbers in the box, after losing possession not aggressive to apply counter-pressing, so I think on the physical side of it, we were not very sharp but I think we can always improve on that.”
“I think it’s been an up and down [start to the season], it’s been hot and cold if you look at the first game we played, and then we played the second game of the league, we were not as sharp, “he said.
“Then [against City] we were spot on in terms of our plan and execution – I think today if you look at how we started… shaky, we weren’t on the ball as we’d love to but after 15 minutes we had more possession, keeping the ball and making combinations.”
“It’s just unfortunate, the few chances we got, mainly in the first half, we couldn’t bury those chances.”
Chiefs fans were not shy to let Ntseki know that they are not pleased with the recent results as they threw missiles at him when he was walking down the tunnel. He was escorted by security personnel.
Before his appointment as the head coach, Ntseki was the head of technical and youth development at the Soweto club.
