AmaZulu Football Club have added midfielder Ben Motshwari to their squad from Orlando Pirates for the rest of the season.
Motshwari, 32, joined Pirates from the no defunct Bidvest Wits in 2018 and had made 133 appearances for the club.
“AmaZulu Football Club have concluded a deal with former Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits midfielder, Ben Motshwari (32) for the remainder of the season with an option to renew at the end of the season,” the club stated.
Club president Sandile Zungu expressed his excitement about the new signing: “We welcome Ben into the team and trust that he will settle in well and make a good contribution in Pablo Franco’s side.”
Zungu also addressed recent media rumours concerning Namibian left-back, Riaan Hanamub, as a potential target for certain DStv Premiership clubs.
He dismissed these rumours as baseless, emphasising that no club has approached them regarding Hanamub’s services.
Motshwari joins Celimpilo Ngema, Mlondi Mbanjwa, Mfanafuthi Mkhize, Wayde Jooste, and Rowan Human. The club also welcomed Victorien Adebayor, Siyanda Hlangabeza, Victor Letsoalo, and Andile Mbanjwa.
Pirates also paid a glowing tribute to Motshwari following confirmation of his move to AmaZulu. The club expressed its gratitude to the midfielder for his unwavering commitment and dedication.
