TS Galaxy veteran midfielder Bernard “Die Hond” Parker has confirmed that he underwent a successful surgery to his broken leg.
Parker was on the receiving end of a crunching tackle from Bongani Zungu during midweek clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical attention amid concern from club officials and fans.
The match ended 2-2 after regulation time and proceeded into a shootout, with TS Galaxy emerging victorious 5-4 on penalties.
Parker, 37, posted a video on his Instagram account on Friday from his hospital bed where he gave an update on the surgery and thanked South Africans for their love.
“Surgery was a success and thank you so much for the love and support, especially from my family, I love you guys. To Tim Sukazi, the TS Galaxy family, coaches and management, thank you for your support.”
