Mamelodi Sundowns moved to second on the Betway Premiership log after coming from a goal down to beat Durban City 3-1 on Saturday evening.
Sundowns enjoyed the lion’s share of the possession throughout in Pretoria, but they fell behind on 12 minutes when Joslin Kamatuka rose highest from a corner to head home the opener.
However, Masandawana hit back just eight minutes later as Allende tucked his shot past Darren Keet after being picked out by Tashreeq Matthews inside the box.
The Tshwane giants almost doubled their advantage on 32 minutes, but the woodwork came to Keet’s rescue after he was beaten by Aubrey Modiba’s free-kick.
Sundowns fans were soon celebrating again though, when Matthews went from provider to goalscorer with a composed finish before the visitors were presented with a chance to restore parity in the closing stages of the first half.
Bokang Mokwena was brought down inside the area to earn his team a penalty, only for Ronwen Williams to deny Kamatuka a second from 12 yards out on 43 minutes.
Downs cranked up the pressure in the second half and Modiba tested Keet on 54 minutes following a good switch of play from Kutlwano Lethlaku, who did well to beat his man before slipping in Matthews inside the box on 62 minutes, but the former Cape Town City goalkeeper was quick off his line to snuff out the danger.
Lethlaku was at the heart of their third goal four minutes later as he released Rayners through on goal and the striker slotted home to seal the win.
Meanwhile Magesi FC claimed their first win of the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season, defeating 10-man Siwelele FC 2-0 at the Seshego Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Elsewhere Sekhukhune United secured 1-0 victory against Lamontville Golden Arrows in their Betway Premiership encounter at Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane on Saturday.
