Actress and fashion designer Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa’s six-year divorce battle with Grammy Award winning music producer and DJ Black Coffee has come to an end.

Mlotshwa shared that she is officially Miss Mlotshwa in an Instagram post reflecting on the “ugly journey” that gave her so many lessons.

“Today, with great emotion, I write this. I am officially Miss Mlotshwa. I’m so grateful for this ugly journey that gave me so many lessons.”

Mlotshwa and Black Coffee’s divorce has had twists and turns , with the actress having to prove she was traditionally married to the DJ before their prenuptial agreement was signed.

“Today God has laid a table for me…I am so thankful to the people you see in this image. These lawyers, advocates and senior attorneys have pushed me and reminded me of the greatness I had in me, reminded me how important it was to fight, most importantly for my children and more so for the rights of women in South Africa.”

Jerry Nkeli Attorneys and Associates, who represented Mlotshwa, shared on Instagram that the court ruled in favor of Mlotshwa, granting her the reliefs sought.

The customary marriage was declared valid and in community of property, the antenuptial contract was invalidated, and Nkosinathi Maphumulo, popularly known as Black Coffee, was ordered to pay spousal maintenance.

“Antenuptial Contract Invalidated: The court also struck down the antenuptial contract signed in 2017, citing that Mbali was misled and lacked legal advice. The contract could not override the default property regime of their customary marriage.”

Black Coffee and Mlotshwa’s divorce was initially announced in 2019, and it has been headline-making with their private lives in the news.

The former couple is living their best lives separately and also ensuring the well-being of their two children. Black Coffee is publicly dating Venezuelan model Victoria Gonzalez.
