Minnows Namibia beat South Africa by four wickets in a last-ball thriller in their one-off T20 International at the newly Namibia Cricket Ground (NGC) in Windhoek on Saturday.
The upset came against a make-shift South African side, with most of the first-choice T20I players currently in Pakistan where they will play a Test tomorrow.
They celebrated in front of a 4,000 capacity crowd at the NCG.
South Africa are the fourth Full Member to be defeated by Namibia, after Zimbabwe, Ireland and Sri Lanka.
The Proteas scored 134/8 in 20 overs and Namibia completed the chase on the last ball of the contest.
Zane Green, who scored an unbeaten 30 runs off 23 balls, was the top performer. He hit 2 fours and 1 six to take his team home. Captain Gerhard Erasmus (21), Malan Kruger (18), JJ Smit (13), Louren Steenkamp (13), and Ruben Trumpelmann (11*) added important runs to the total.
Nandre Burger and Andile Simelane picked up two wickets each for the Proteas.
Earlier, Quinton de Kock, who returned to action after a long time, amassed just 1 run for South Africa. Jason Smith (31), Rubin Hermann (23) and Lhuan-dre Pretorius (22) were among the runs for the visiting side. Trumpelmann got rid of three South African batters while Max Heingo sent back two players.
