Stellenbosch FC and Kaizer Chiefs have agreed to terms for the signatures of Zitha Kwinika and Ashley Du Preez.
The duo is set to join Chiefs on the 1st of July 2022.
Both Kwinika and Du Preez were an integral part the winelands’ club march to third on the Dstv Premiership table this past season. Kwinika was recently named the Players’ Player of the season and Player of the Season at the club’s awards ceremony, while Du Preez walked away with the top goalscorer award for his nine goals achieved.
“I’m grateful for Stellenbosch, especially Coach Steve Barker, Rob Benadie but importantly, my teammates. They helped me become a better player, so I am quite grateful for the team and everyone involved in the backroom staff,” said Kwinika.
“I also want to thank the supporters for the love they showed me. Even though I am looking forward to the new challenge that lies ahead of me, I will always represent the Winelands wherever I go because they helped me to grow and become a better player, a better individual, and a better human being.”
In addition, Ashley Du Preez said, “It’s never an easy decision to leave a club like Stellenbosch, a town that’s given me so much, a community that’s given me so much. I want to thank the management, the coaching staff, Garth Le Roux, and Rob Benadie.
Chiefs are in the midst of a clear out at Naturena with a host of players such as Kearyn Baccus, Lebogang Monyama, Reeve Frosler, Samir Nurkovic, Leonardo Castro and Lazarous Kambole’s contracts all expiring next month.
