There was much excitement when the draw for the 2022 MTN 8 Wafa Wafa semifinals was conducted on Monday evening.
Orlando Pirates was drawn against the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns in the first semifinal while Kaizer Chiefs will take on Amazulu in the other semifinal.
The first-round took place over the weekend, with AmaZulu becoming the first side to advance to the final four after overcoming last season’s finalists Cape Town City in extra-time on Saturday, before Orlando Pirates needed a solitary strike from Vincent Pule to defeat Royal AM at Chatsworth Stadium later that evening.
Sunday saw Chiefs book their spot in the semi-finals with a penalty shoot-out win over Stellenbosch FC while defending champions Sundowns left it late to see off Tshwane rivals SuperSport United.
The Premier Soccer League will confirm dates and venues for both legs in due course.
