Five armed men who attacked occupants of a farmhouse earlier this week were traced to a hiding spot nearby and arrested.
The men stormed the ‘Schietfontein’ farm in Alldays around 10:00 on Thursday.
They demanded money and firearms from a woman, 71, her son, 47, and a farmworker before shooting and injuring the three.
The gang then fled on foot with money, firearms and ammunition.
Limpopo police said a massive search operation was activated.
“The team ultimately managed to track down the suspects who were in a hiding place within the farming precinct and were arrested. During the arrest, the police recovered the stolen items, including firearms, ammunition and cash money.”
The five, aged between 26 and 34, are set to appear in the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Monday, facing charges of attempted murder and armed robbery.
