Former Ah Ahly striker, Ahmed Belal has criticized Pitso Mosimane’s poor decision-making during their goalless draw against Wadi Degla.
Al Ahly were held to a 0-0 draw against Wadi Degla in the Egyptian Premier League. The Red Devils had their fair share of opportunities but were unable to capitalize thanks to Ahmed Abdelmonsef’s heroics.
However, Belal believes that the main reason behind them dropping points was Mosimane’s poor management of the game.
“Mosimane should’ve played with two strikers to make the most out of the opportunities they got and score goals. But he was very reserved today and failed to make good tactical decisions,” Belal said.
“The changes he made were very late. He had to make them to confuse the opponents but he didn’t do so,” he concluded.
This draw brought the Red Devils to their 10th point as they now sit second on the league table. Their upcoming game will be against SONIDEP in the second leg of the first round of the CAF Champions League on January 5th.
Meanwhile Mosimane said Walter Bwalya will be competing with the likes of, out -of-form, Marwan Mohsen for a regular spot in the starting eleven, something He believes will work in his side’s favor.
“CAF decided to increase the players in the squad due to the coronavirus that’s why we need in each position two or three players. With each swab test, I ask myself who will be absent from the team,” said Mosimane.
“Bwalya’s presence will help the team, and of course we need him because it’s better to have an abundant amount of players in each position.”
Al Ahly have also been handed a major boost as Manhoud Kahraba successfully recovered from COVID-19, the player announced on Saturday.
The Red Devils were dealt a huge blow ahead of their recent draw against Wadi Degla in the Egyptian Premier League.
Marwan Mohsen, Mahmoud Kahraba, Akram Tawfik, and Mohamed Hany all tested positive for COVID-19 and missed the Wadi Degla encounter.
However, less than three days after contracting the virus, Kahraba is now set to return to team training after recovering from COVID-19.
