Orlando Stadium has been renamed to Orlando Amstel Arena after Heineken SA, which owns Amstel signed a five deal with Stadium Management South Africa (SMSA).
The stadium is owned by the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality, is operated and managed by SMSA.
The five-year agreement sees Amstel stepping into the spotlight as the stadium’s new naming partner. Alongside the name change comes a full visual refresh, including bold new branding and a striking Amstel presence placed high on the stadium structure, visible from far beyond matchday crowds. It is a confident reintroduction of a venue that has always been more than just concrete and seats.
The historical venue, also known as Esgodini saka Maminzela, is used by Pirates for their home matches.
Orlando Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium. The new stadium was constructed between 2006 and 2008, following the demolition of the historic stadium and the capacity was increased to 40 000.
As a famous home of South African soccer, it was associated with a host of football greats including: Kaizer Motaung, Jomo Sono and the late Patrick “Ace” Ntsoelengoe.
Meanwhile the match between Siwelele FC and Kaizer Chiefs, originally set for 18 February 2026 at the Toyota Stadium, has been postponed due to our CAF Confederation Cup fixture.
