Nedbank Cup Wrap: Arrows through, Pirates pummel amateurs.

Golden Arrows advanced to the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 after beating visiting Orbit College 3-0 at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.

Lightning had brought a premature end to the original fixture at half-time on Saturday night, with Arrows leading 1-0 thanks to a Lungelo Nguse penalty.

Arrows picked up where they left off on Saturday night, claiming a 1-0 lead midway through the first half via Angelo van Rooi, who turned home a right-flank cross from Khulekani Shezi.

Less than 10 minutes later, the hosts doubled their advantage via Sede Dion, who rounded the goalkeeper and shot into an empty net after running onto a great through ball from Sboniso Madonsela.

Arrows controlled the second half and finished off the game in the 78th minute via Ayabulela Maxwele, who scored with a low shot from the right of the penalty area after a sweeping counter attack.

Meanwhile TS Galaxy defeated their Premier Soccer League opponents, Marumo Gallants, 1-0 to reach the Nedbank Cup Round of 16.

Elsewhere Premier Soccer League outfit Magesi FC were humbled by National First Division side Upington City in another fixture staged at the Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium and Sekhukhune United claimed a hard-fought 1-0 win over Highbury FC on Saturday at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium in Port Elizabeth.
